The Perea Nature Trail sits just south of the small town of San Ysidro in a sensitive riparian wetland. The small size of these riparian wetlands in New Mexico are misleading to most of us, as they serve a very large population of wildlife and livestock. This 0.9-mile loop takes hikers along the Rio Salado and o?ers views of the Jemez Mountains as well as the Blanco Mesa, a popular background setting for numerous motion pictures and photographs.
