This trek starts at a riverside trailhead and uses the Laurel Bluffs Trail to climb bluffs above the Eno River. From there descend to river bottoms and reach Eno Quarry. Here you can explore three bodies of water simultaneously—the Eno River, Rhodes Creek, and the clear waters of Eno Quarry. Loop around the quarry then return to the trailhead.
Much of this hike traverses an important tract of Eno River State Park that was acquired back in 2004. Known as the Coile Estate, the land included 1.3 miles of riverbank on the south side of the Eno. It provided a link from Pleasant Green Road to the Cabelands, and made for a contiguous protected section
of riverway. Comprising 159 acres, the Coile Estate tract also included Eno Quarry.
