A walk on the southernmost segment of this long rail trail will leave you wanting to explore the entire thing. This portion starts in southern Wake County and crosses the expansive wetlands of Beaver Creek, where marshy views stretch in the distance. Cross Olive Chapel Road then continue on to sandy Reedy Branch and a bridge. From there you can extend your hike another 20 miles if desired.
