Sally Mountain sits amid the ponds west of Jackman along the sinuous course of the Moose River. The first half of the hike is along the Montreal, Maine, and Atlantic Railroad tracks. You even have to cross a trestle over the Moose River. The hiking trail then leaves the tracks and crosses to Sally Mountain. The trail emerges on the long summit ridge atop cliffs with fine views east, south, and west. The trail ends at the summit where there are more fine views to the north and east.
