Borestone Mountain has a double summit visible from as far south as Charleston even though the mountain is only 1,981 feet high. The summit offers stunning views in every direction of the surrounding mountains and lakes. The hike climbs steadily through spruce to Sunrise Pond. Once around the pond, the hike climbs again. The second climb is steeper and rockier, ending with a section that involves some exposure.
