Minister Creek Trail is one of the most popular trails in the Allegheny National Forest. After a 0.5-mile climb from the parking lot to the trailhead, you begin the rock-and-root-covered trail by heading into the valley for your first encounter with the crystal-clear waters of Minister Creek. As you ascend from the valley, you are in the midst of mammoth sandstone boulders, some 100 feet wide and 50 feet high. At one point the trail passes right through a fissure in one of these giants.
