Here’s your chance to rise above it all, to the highest point in all of Pennsylvania, Mount Davis (3,213 feet). Because of its altitude, the area surrounding this hike is different than the typical mountain trails at lower elevations. You’ll see trees charred from lightning fires, peculiar rock circles, and stunted trees. The immediate area around the “highest point” monument and tower is tourist-friendly: flat and paved. But the majority of this hike is ideal for those who want to rough it a bit and explore the unusual high-mountain ecosystem.
