Landmine Loop is a challenging trail that climbs up into the hills around Blue Diamond before finishing with a nice, long downhill section. While the trail has some difficult sections, the ride is one of the most popular in Cottonwood. This trail starts in the small town of Blue Diamond, beginning on one side of the town and ending on the other. In the meantime the trail makes its way through Cottonwood Valley just outside Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, below the La Madre Mountains and the area known as the Red Rock Escarpment.
This area provides spectacular views of the Cottonwood Valley and all it has to off er. Much of the ride is in the hills just behind Blue Diamond, and the height of the trail just adds to the views. The trail starts in the parking lot outside McGhie’s Outpost, a local bike shop, where there is ample parking.
