The Ruta del Placerita Tujunga—or, more linguistically, “La Ruta”—is a challenging loop through the San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest. The loop includes passages through Placerita Canyon and Little Tujunga Canyon, as well as an urban segment through the northeastern San Fernando Valley. While Little Tujunga Canyon Road is not as long, open, and daunting as Big Tujunga Canyon Road (see Big Tujunga Canyon Epic for comparison), Little Tujunga offers an extra kick by featuring two significant climbs rather than one.
