The OC North Coast Promenade, with OC standing for Orange County, is a flat and potentially fast jaunt up and down the Huntington Beach coast. This is the flattest ride in this book, with only a 28-foot differential between the low and high elevations.
The route uses the shoulder of famous SR 1 outbound and a beachside bike path for the return ride. Serious cyclists use the highway exclusively, staying off the path. However, the path is recommended for its beachside atmosphere, as well as the opportunity to enjoy car- free vistas of the surf.
