A hike around an uninhabited island connected to the mainland by a causeway. The walk around Sears Island is actually a walking tour of the upper bay, since you get to look at area landmarks from every direction. Because of easy access, this is a popular hike with local residents. All the same, few bother to hike completely around the whole island. General location: Northern Penobscot Bay near Searsport in Waldo County.
