A hike to the summit of a mountain northeast of Frenchman Bay. Offering a panoramic view of the mountains of Acadia National Park, this hike is a good way to get your legs in shape after a long winter. General location: Near the town of Sullivan about halfway between Ellsworth and Cherryfield in the Tunk Lake region, Hancock County. This is a popular hike, so if you go on a weekend in summer you will probably see other hikers. The trail begins on a paved road leading east from the trailhead. At 0.1 mile the trail heads left on a dirt fire road. You have a good view of Schoodic Mountain from this point. At 0.5 mile the trail crosses a small brook. At 1 mile the trail crosses some railroad tracks, follows them to the right for a short distance, then turns left and into mixed woods of white pines, oaks, and maples.

Great hike! I had some difficulty finding the trailhead but once there easy to follow. Trail is in good condition.
