I have many fond memories of this trail and have walked it many times (the first when I was only eight.) This trail is interesting in any weather. The views are excellent when clear and the quick arrival of fog along Maine's coast can also be an experience. The trails are well marked and can be really slick when wet. A walking stick is useful. The Camden Hills State Park is a great campground near a beautiful seacoast town. There are over 30 miles of trails in the park.
Well-marked trail leading to summit at 1300 feet. Nice view of Penobscot bay, Mount Battie, and the towns of Camden and Rockport. Starts off easy for a nice warm-up and becomes steeper and more difficult as you progress.
