A hike in an oceanside park with opportunities to walk along the water's edge and through cool piney woods. The park offers oceanside picnic tables and a chance to see a variety of sea creatures, including seals, porpoises, and birds such as double-crested cormorants, loons, sea ducks, bald eagles, and ospreys. Tidal pools, formed by retreating water at low tide, hold diverse marine organisms. This is a particularly fascinating hike for children. General location: just off U.S. Highway 1 between Belfast and Searsport in Waldo County.
