This is a hike up a lone mountain to a fire tower with panoramic views. Standing alone, Blue Hill was a landmark for mariners during the sailing age. It is near the historic village of Castine, as well as Deer Isle, a scenic island accessible by a bridge. The village of Blue Hill is a charming community, well worth a short visit. General location: North of the town of Blue Hill in Hancock county, midcoast Maine.
