Like Ride 50, this 20.5-mile outing—consisting of a 1.25-mile spur connecting to an 18-mile loop—begins at the pleasant Castle Rock Campground. After setting out on gravel, you’ll follow pavement for seven miles, passing through the stunning Narrows of Clear Creek Canyon. The route then descends under I-70 before climbing onto the sporadically forested slopes south of the interstate and subsequently getting into some rough four-wheel-drive stuff down around Fish Creek. Route finding can be a challenge. Overall, the ride is rated moderate in terms of both aerobic and technical difficulty. General location: 25 miles southwest of Richfield.
