Kokopelli’s Trail can be likened to a multiday counterpart to the Slickrock Bike Trail, and it is fitting that riders come from throughout the world to experience it. The 145-mile point-to-point route is remote and rugged. It is a linear jigsaw puzzle, linking all sorts of riding surfaces, including pavement, graded gravel and dirt, ledge rock, slickrock, sandy and/or rocky four-wheel-drive road, existing and newly constructed single-track, and even some historic stagecoach road thrown in for good measure. Did I mention scenery? From the Mars-scape of the Slickrock Bike Trail the route climbs toward Porcupine and Fisher Mesas. Early views into Castle Valley and of the Fisher Towers’ redrock sentinels are followed by a pair of rocky canyons both called Cottonwood, the colorful sandstones of the Entrada Bluffs, and a scenic descent to Dewey Bridge overlooking the broad Grand Valley and distant Roan Cliffs and Book Cliffs. And that’s just the first half of the ride! The meandering Kokopelli’s Trail is well signed for its entire length. In case you don’t have the time or inclination to ride the entire main route, five loop routes in Colorado—Mary’s Loop, Lion’s Loop, Troy Built Loop, Steve’s Loop, and Horsethief Bench Loop—are all easily accessible from Grand Junction.

Great long ride. We had a group of 26 riders which made this trip a lot of fun. The single track is great, not much of it though. We did it in 3 days, about 45 miles per day. It is a great ride and one to brag to all your mountain biking buddies about.

Flat and Long, If you actully like Mt Biking I would recomend only riding the sections of singletrack, which by the way are stunning. The vast majority of the trail is on flat dirt road, and while senic, the ride becomes quite boaring. If you have lots of free time, it's worth the trip. Otherwise spend you time on Porqupine Rim, Slick Rock and the Singletracks near Fuita.
