Three Metroparks, one ride. If you haven’t discovered the regional Metropark system yet, you’re in for a treat. This line of three parks in particular is a major asset to cyclists. The pathway runs diagonally, following the course of the Huron River, from near Belleville to the north almost to Flat Rock to the south. It cuts under I-275 and connects to what is currently an old and unimproved section of the I-275 Metro Trail, though there are plans in the works to put this back into riding condition. What’s best is that this is a beautiful bike path. It winds and weaves its way through fields and forests, and the views over the river are often breathtaking. There are three well-maintained Metroparks on a pathway that generally follows along or near the Huron River. There are marsh areas, oak-hickory forests, fields, and views along the river.
