There are places along the way that really do look like northern lower Michigan. It’s hard to keep telling yourself that you’re in heavily populated southeast lower Michigan. The hills are a constant and some are a challenge, though none are very long. The roads are tree-covered most of the time, creating a tunnel effect in some areas. It’s almost architectural, like going through a natural hallway, everchanging, vibrant, and full of life.
