This is a route for those who are comfortable riding alongside fast-moving traffic in limited lane widths. Even at that, it’s a relatively popular road ride for cyclists in the area. It’s a visual feast, whether it’s viewing an expansive farmstead with grazing animals or waving cornfields with hawks soaring overhead, filtered panoramas of tree-lined lakes, or lowland marshes filled with statuesque egrets or herons. The topography rolls continuously, seldom overly steep or long, but continuously enough that you feel the tug of the effort on your legs mile after mile. This is rural riding at its bucolic best. Things to see: Marshlands with swans, heron, egret, and other wildlife; rolling hills; expansive farmlands and farmsteads; a small residential community; a couple of large lakes. This is a busy route in some sections, particularly Parker and Pleasant Lake Roads. There is no bike lane anywhere along this ride. Vehicles move fast (45 to 55 mph).
