This route takes you into two small, charming towns worth exploring and wends its way along some beautiful rolling countryside. This route wanders through the heart of recreational Southeast Michigan that includes the Pinckney Recreation Area. Dexter was originally known as Mill Creek Settlement when it was settled in the 1820s. Its name changed in 1830 to Dexter for its prominent founder, but the waterway that runs through the village, Mill Creek, still retains the name.
