The Riley Five Miley is a nifty mountain bike ride that loops through Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park, with a short (1.3-mile) out-and-back on a trail through the exclusive Coto de Caza community. The ride is an excellent outing for a beginner mountain biker, although a few of the route’s challenges are suitable for an experienced or expert rider. The challenges include some short, steep climbs, a dry creek crossing, and a steep descent on an eroded trail. The ride is a wee bit short of 5 miles, at 4.65. A speedy and/or fit rider might want to complete the route two or three times.
