The Southwest Corridor Park (SCP) cuts through Back Bay and the South End toward Franklin Park and Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, locally called “JP.” The paved corridor provides a welcome alternative to cycling commuters into the city, as well as a scenic jaunt out of downtown. The SCP’s straight shot will take you through a number of distinct neighborhoods between Back Bay and JP, including the Northeastern University campus in Mission Hill and Roxbury’s Hyde, Jackson, and Egleston Squares. You’ll end with a brief tour of Jamaica Plain (and maybe even a stop at the J.P. Licks Ice Cream mothership) before rejoining the SCP for the return leg.
