An easy walk through the woods ends with a mildly challenging scramble to waterfall overlooks. Not to be missed: the park’s hot springs pool and its unbeatable views. This out-of-the-way hike leads through quintessential Sierran woodland bordering a classic mountain meadow to a waterfall that flows year-round. Grover Hot Springs may not be a destination on the bucket lists of most hikers, but it should be. The park has a relatively typical western mountain history. First came the Washoe, who hunted and gathered in the lovely alpine valley in the summer months. Historians believe explorer John Frémont traveled through the valley on a passage through the Sierra Nevada.
