Explore the whole of Blendon Woods Metro Park via a series of four shortish hikes that all emanate from the same trailhead. First, walk amid upland hardwoods on the Sugarbush Trail. Next, wander through ?elds and meadows with native prairie ?owers on the Goldenrod Trail. After that head to Thoreau Lake, to hopefully see some wildlife, on the Pond Trail. Finally, make a loop in the Ripple Rock Creek valley, where you will visit bottomland woods stretched along the main watercourse that runs through Blendon Woods. Since the hikes start at the park nature center, you can easily add environmental education to the experience.
