Two trails add up to a varied experience at this Columbus Metro Park. Take the Red Oak Trail on a gravel path, exploring deciduous ?atwoods, then join the asphalt Marsh Hawk Trail, looping through ?elds and meadows as well as woods. The ?rstrate, easy-to-follow trail system has little vertical variation, making for a relaxing trek used by locals for their daily exercise. How prescient that was, to begin setting aside land for residents of greater Columbus to enjoy and explore while simultaneously preserving the natural qualities of these parks. Today the Metro Parks system presents fifteen parks covering over 23,000 acres in seven counties in and around Columbus. Columbus continues to grow, and the area between Dublin and Marysville, once farms and villages, is fast morphing into houses and shopping centers.
