The Lower Falls of Upper Creek trail leads you on a steady downhill trek all the way to the falls. Once you reach the base, you’re greeted with a charming waterfall that flows between large rounded rocks. The rock face continues alongside the creek and gives the dogs a perfect place to sit, run, play, or swim while the water rushes by. The trail begins by leading you across a small grassy fi eld, and then takes you on a long, steady downhill trek around several switchbacks. If your dogs are well behaved under voice control, keep them off the leash; this prevents them from pulling you down the mountain or tripping you up on the rooty path. You’ll hear a variety of birds, chirping and singing as you pass them by, and at 0.6 mile you come to a T. Go right (northeast), and continue your slow descent toward the falls. You’ll pass a huge cliff overhang, where people have camped and sought shelter.
