What Locust Lake State Park has that neighboring Tuscarora State Park does not is a campground. And as it turns out, the campground is an excellent place for tent camping. With 282 sites, the campground at Locust Lake is no small affair, and along the main campground loops, the sites can feel rather cramped and crowded. However, tent campers have several options available that allow them to get some peace and quiet away from the RVs. Locust Lake is a small but very attractive park that is part of a larger park complex shared with the nearby Tuscarora State Park, where the office for both parks is located. Both of the parks have lakes that are popular with anglers, and both have fishing piers, swimming beaches, boat launches, and picnic areas.
