A long, hard day hike or overnighter with a stunning view of Mount Cowen, an incredible mass of rock and the highest point in the Absaroka Range. The rugged north Absaroka Range forms the eastern horizon of the Paradise Valley south of Livingston along the Yellowstone River. Of all these formidable peaks, 11,206-foot Mount Cowen is the highest. If you plan a late June or early July trip, check with the Forest Service about snow conditions before trying it.
