A weeklong backpacking vacation over magnificent Columbine Pass and into a gorgeous, lake-dotted plateau with a myriad of side trip opportunities; nicely suited to backpackers who like to set up a base camp. Hikers can choose from a variety of options for hiking into the Lake Plateau, but this route is special because there aren’t many opportunities like this one to see so much wild country without working out a burdensome shuttle or retracing your steps for half of the trip.
