Hike the somewhat challenging Cape Horn Loop, close to the western end of the Columbia River Gorge, on the Washington (north) side of the river. Spectacular views of the gorge, including a close-up look at Cigar Rock jutting from the shoreline of the mighty Columbia River, and an excellent workout are more than ample reward for making this hike. Some parts of this route, especially the portion heading back to the east (between 5 and 6.4 miles into the hike) are rough and rocky and have some exposure.
