An easy scenic kid and dog-friendly — but crowded — 3.84 mile mike to one of Los Angeles County’s most popular waterfalls. (Date hiked: May 29, 2010.) Read the full write-up at: http://www.greeneadventures.com/2011/02/21/eaton-canyon-falls-easy-and-crowded-but-well-worth-hiking/
The first part of this hike is pretty hot and the trees are few and far between. The trail is well marked but it is a little bit deceiving. Keep walking, the stream looks like it has gone dry but once you reach the waterfall there is a 2-3 foot deep pool waiting for you. Over all I think this hike would be a lot better durring the spring time. The 90-100 degree summer temperatures can be a little overwhelming.
