From this landmark peak rising above the community of Twisp, you can look out over the placid Methow Valley and to lofty peaks north and south. Look out to the Sawtooth Ridge and also to the golden Columbia River plateau too. And look out from a fire tower lookout, one of a few still remaining in the region and still heeding Smoky’s call. What you won’t have to look out for on Lookout Mountain, however, are crowds.
