Looking for a quiet retreat off of the busy North Cascades Highway? East Creek Trail should do the trick. You won’t find killer views, alpine lakes, or cathedral forests, but you probably won’t find another vehicle in the parking lot either. If you want solitude, it’s here. There are some fair views along the way, and nice unbroken pine forests, too. And who needs a lake when you have a soothing creek tumbling by your side? One other enticement— an old mine to set your prospects on.
