Be sure to grab a pamphlet at the parking lot kiosk before you start exploring. You may want to snoop around the environmental education center too, before taking to the trail. Opened in 2009, this facility has been a real boon to area schoolchildren, helping them bond with the outdoors. The nicely displayed and labeled native plant garden is a great way to become familiar with the flora of the lower Columbia Basin. Kids will enjoy the animal tracks in the pathway.
