South of the Pistol River is a sweet stretch of beach ending with a bang at Crook Point, a grassy headland ringed with huge onshore and offshore rocks. They’re all part of Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. The rocks and islands are off-limits, but you can watch seals, sea lions, and nesting seabirds from the mainland; bring binoculars for best views.
