“Thicketty and timbered, and some very bad ravines to cross.” So wrote a member of a 1928 expedition of the rough hills south of Cape Arago known as the Seven Devils.
It’s fair to say it’s worse going now, with spiny gorse covering the hillsides as far as the eye can see. There is still no hiking trail through the Seven Devils, but the beach at their base is remote and scenic.
