South of the main trail system at South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve are two shorter trails: Wasson Creek (0.75 mile) and Winchester Creek (0.5 mile). They’re just as intriguing, and well worth combining into a 1.75-mile loop hike. The boggy ground around the creeks can harbor mosquitoes all summer long; bring repellent.
