A wide, plush valley extending from an arm of Mercer Lake, drained by a gurgling creek, Enchanted Valley is a good choice for a picnic, a short summer walk out of the wind, or a blood-warming stroll on a misty winter day.
What had served for many years as pasture for dairy cattle is being returned to its natural state, with a creek that again meanders through the valley rather than alongside it, and a grassy meadow that serves as winter range for some 250 wild elk. Eventually, trails here may be extended to link with those at Cape Mountain to the north.
