You can’t see it from the highway, but Fishing Rock is worth seeking out. Watch waves crashing on the pocket beach to the south. Sheer cliffs add to the rock’s drama, but take care with young children. Then clamber down the narrow trail on the rock’s north face to access long Lincoln Beach. There are plenty of houses here; if you don’t mind that, enjoy a northbound walk as far as Gleneden Beach, 2 miles to the north—or farther.
