There’s something special about the Teanaway Country. Fragrant pine forests. Sprawling wildflower fields. Grand views. Wildlife of all kinds and sizes. Miller Peak has all this, and more. The long climb along an exposed, sun-baked ridge provides unmatched views, reaching south to Mount Adams and north over the ragged teeth of the Stuart Range. That open ridge also offers up the risks of sunburn and heat exhaustion, so pack plenty of sunscreen and carry more water than you think you might need. Also, be prepared to encounter motorcycles along this trail. Though their use is sporadic and chances are you won’t see the dirt bikers, their presence is felt even when they aren’t around—the motorcycles gouge deep ruts into the trail tread and grind the soil into dust.
