This easy walk provides some unique opportunities to view the local wildlife—Craggius rattius, better known as crag rats. These human creepy crawlers can be found hanging from their fingertips all along the rocky walls towering over the Iron Horse Trail near the Change Creek canyon. Of course, rock walls draw more than vertically oriented humans. An assortment of birds call these cliff faces home as well—swallows and swifts, hawks and falcons. Indeed, some of the most exciting wildlife moments come from swallows diving and swirling around the heads of climbers (who frequently will suck up close to the wall to avoid the "bombs" dropped by these small flyers).
