This is an easy hike—a gentle climb with just under 1000 feet elevation gain in a mile and a half to an old fire lookout site where you find great views of the surrounding region. From here you can look south to the Columbia River and into the dry lands of eastern Washington. You don’t find any water near this trail, so pack plenty.

This trail guide is completely wrong. Use your GPS and type in the trail coordinates. It's about 10miles outside of town and you turn right. The trail head is 1 miles up the road from where you can park. The tree's are growing over the road pretty well so I wouldn't bring the vehicle up to the trail. Then...start going up...and up....and up. It's tough at first but the view and flowers are wellllllllllll worth it. Beautiful hike
