This interpretive trail loops around a broad clearing just south of Ryan Lake. It includes several steep sections, but none is longer than a few dozen yards. Generally speaking, this is an easy, relaxing trail on which to explore a small segment of the Mount St. Helens blast area—the trailhead is just 12 miles from the volcano’s crater.
