Sure it’s a road walk, but the road has been largely reclaimed by the forest, and the destination is a view-rich summit that once held a fire lookout station. The route is easy enough that kids of all ages will be able to enjoy the walk, and when the hike is over everyone can take a cool dip in Council Lake down at the trailhead.
