Big trees, a big river, and a big chance—especially during the wet winter months—of seeing some big elk are what you can expect on this well-maintained trail. Follow alongside the free-flowing South Fork Skokomish through groves of big maples and firs, being constantly soothed by the river’s churning and rippling. NW Forest Pass or Interagency Pass required. This trail is open to stock and mountain bikes. At 5.1 miles, reach an incredible overlook (elev. 790 ft) of the river on a bluff high above a big bend, where the river has taken away bluff and trail in the past.

Great trail, there are a few spots where the snow is still a bit deep but I'm am sure that will be gone soon. Over all had a good time. Plenty of things to look at.

An out and back trail. Some good hills to climb in both directions. The streams were a little lacking in water but I'll return when there is more and I'm sure it will be even more spectacular. Trail is well marked. Probably need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the trail head in the Winter months.
