One of the best-kept secrets on the Kitsap Peninsula, this county nature preserve protects almost 200 acres of stunning beach and stately forest on Hood Canal. Hike to a secluded cove teeming with seabirds. With The Brothers looming high above and directly across the canal, you may have to reel your jaw back in before heading home.

The trail to the "beach" is a bit rough at times, it doesn't seem well traveled. A little steap for small kids. There is a service road that takes you down much easier and more direct, however to get to the small rock only beach, you have to pass a very dense marsh. Our feet were pretty muddy and wet. The views were incredible once there, and we saw a few herons fly over head.
