Hike through subalpine forest and meadows, passing tiny Round Lake, from the Indian Creek Trail to the Sand Ridge Trail. The junction with Indian Creek Trail 1105, where this hike begins, is in beautiful Blankenship Meadow, at 5,150 feet elevation.
After crossing a rocky streambed, the course continues west through small meadows and timber. In slightly less than 0. 25 mile, you will cross another streambed and shortly reach the southern shore of tiny Round Lake. At the lake you are 0. 4 mile from the Indian Creek Trail and have dropped to 5, 140 feet elevation. There are usually plentiful signs of elk around the lake; in fact, this entire trail offers a good possibility of seeing these magnificent creatures.
