Hike along the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail through the lake-studded southern part of the William O. Douglas Wilderness. The route soon passes below a small, narrow talus slope. Pikas inhabit these rocks and may let out a whistle to announce your passing. A couple hundred yards after leaving the talus, the course crosses a small stream. Then you pass a meadow and climb a couple of switchbacks. The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) climbs gently for the first 30 yards to the wilderness registration box, where you can fill out your wilderness permit. Past the wilderness registration box, the route enters old-growth forest. The large timber consists mostly of western hemlock and Douglas fir.

Beautiful hike, more then breath taking most have will power to continue. But nothing more rewarding then reaching the top and looking out over the Cascades. If you haven't done it you gotta give it a try. :0
