This trail begins at the same trailhead as the Blue Lake Trail but, unlike that one, doesn’t get megacrowds. And if you’re more of a panoramic mountain vista person than an alpine lake aficionado, the Dock Butte Trail will be more to your liking anyway. Views are so far-ranging from here, in fact, the butte is the site of a former lookout cabin, which burned down in 1964.
